A brief history . . .

Clockhouse Capital was established in 2012 by Richard Crawford to help investment projects access institutional capital. Since then:

  • we have sourced £1bn+ from UK-based global investors

  • our primary focus has evolved to raising capital for private transactions

  • we have observed the growth of private debt solutions as an alternative to private equity transactions

Activity focus . . .

We typically handle transactions that are un-sponsored, bilateral and bespoke. They often contain a degree of complexity or higher risk that can deter traditional sources of capital.

Our contractual engagements are with private companies, investment and asset originators, fund managers, and fintech platforms. We are comfortable working with entrepreneurs who seek growth capital.

Transaction sizes range from £25m to £500m.

The investors . . .

Our investor base is highly sophisticated, often opportunistic, and can provide significant investment. They are flexible on capital structure, often able to implement a debt solution to an equity problem. Consequently, the preferred deal-flow is usually asset-backed, cash generative, or both.

However, they only undertake projects that they consider to be scalable and of clear institutional calibre.

Clockhouse can access a global pool of capital from contacts mainly in the UK.
